LOL. I remember David Letterman doing a think on real people with funny names. The only one I remember was Phil McCracken.
However, more fortunate that he presumably didn't grow up in a culture in which boys not old enough to hold the title Mr. - are referred to as Master...
This one took a sec but I got it and guffawed!
I went to school with a kid whose last name was Bates, and many did call him Master.
Maybe he helped some of the boys feel more comfy about touching IT all by themselves.
